Frequently
Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q:
What is your charge for a studio session fee?
We charge $45.00 payable at the time of your appointment. This is
either for a studio session or for an outdoor session. If you would
like to choose both options, the fee is $60.00. This is a nonrefundable
fee to reserve your time in our studio. When you purchase the Collegiate
Package this fee will apply towards your final purchase.
Q:
What are your hours of business?
We are available late afternoon and evenings Monday through Friday.
We are available all day Saturday and Sunday. Please inquire if
you would like to schedule an appointment on a holiday.
Q:
How do I make an appointment?
To make an appointment, you can either call us at 618-797-0093 or
use our website contact us page. If you must reschedule your appointment,
please call us no later than 24 hours before your appointment.
Q:
I’m going to be in the area, can I just stop by to get my
picture taken or pick up my order?
We cannot accommodate “walk-ins” and work strictly by
appointment only. You may call us at 618-797-0093 to schedule a
time to come to our studio.
Q:
A family member got their portraits taken last year at “insert
studio name here” and I want to know if you will match or
beat their deals and offers.
Hane Photography understands the modern informed consumer is always
looking for the best value. What should come first is quality and
creativity. We are not like the big “assembly line”
style portrait stores and do not compete with them. One size does
not fit all.
Q:
Am I allowed to use ideas from other photography studios?
If you have creative ideas, we welcome them. We are not trying to
copy every other photographer’s techniques and want your images
to be unique and expressive, while giving you excellent service
that will make you happy to be a repeat customer.
Q:
Do I get to keep my printed proofs?
You may purchase a set of printed proofs. Please contact us for
special pricing information. There is a required security deposit
for you to take home your printed proofs. The deposit fee varies
on how many proofs are in your set and the fee is pro-rated depending
on the quantity from your photo session.
Q:
I only want one picture taken, such as for an advertisement or PR
headshot. How much will this cost?
The cost for your studio time is $45.00. This does not include the
cost of your prints. You may find these prices on our price sheet
in the Ala Carte’ section. Retouching or digital enhancing
such as black and white or text and graphics will be an additional
fee. You can choose your image on our display screen to make your
prepaid order.
Q: I want my braces
taken off in the pictures or other reconstruction (blemishes, etc)
done to my portraits, how much will that cost?
Extensive
custom digital retouching will be an additional cost of $40.00 per
pose. We include normal amounts of retouching and optimizing at
no extra cost. We will assess the amount of work needed and give
you a quote before you sign the session agreement.
Q:
What do you charge to take outdoor pictures or travel to a location?
A fee of $45.00 is charged for your outdoor session. This fee includes
local travel within 20 miles of our studio. This should cover most
of the St. Louis City/Metro East area. Travel over 20 miles from
our studio will be billed at $1.50 per mile. We can take our entire
studio on the road for your event photography. Contact us for a
custom quote if you need us to set up our complete studio at a remote
location.
Q:
Why do I have to sign a “model release” form?
All photographers must get a written agreement specifying that the
subject has given permission to display their images online, in
advertising, contests, etc. This is a standard industry practice.
When subjects are under the age of 18, their parent of guardian
can sign for them. We respect our customer’s privacy and do
not disclose any personal information to outside sources.
Q:
I don’t want exactly what is in one of your packages, can
I trade out items?
We carefully designed our packages for the best quantity/value for
the customer.
If you want a different enlargement than what is listed in a package,
please purchase it from the Ala Carte’ price list. We cannot
make substitutions or trade items in our packages.
Q:
Can you put my name or graphics on my photographs?
Yes, we offer many custom options. Check out our Senior Price Sheet
for prices regarding graphics additions. Graphics may be added as
long as they are not copyright protected.
Q:
How do I see my online images from my session?
After we complete your studio session time permitting, we will preview
the pictures we took on our large display monitor. You can choose
any specific images that you like at this time. Give us a few days
before you look for your session images online. We will do minor
and basic retouching before posting your images on our website.
Your images will be posted in our online gallery with a folder specific
just for you! Please remember online images are lower in resolution
and watermarked for online viewing only. It is permissible to post
images from your session on your “MySpace.com” page
only if our watermark is visible. We grant permission for that specific
usage. If you have any questions, please ask.
Q:
Can I have my photographs from Hane Photography copied and reprinted
somewhere else like a retail store photo finisher or my computer
printer?
Images captured by Hane Photography are protected by copyright laws
and cannot be used or reprinted without our written permission.
Illegal use of our images will result in prosecution for copyright
infringement. Since we cannot control the quality of outside photo
labs, we do not allow reprinting from scans of our prints. To reorder
prints from a previous session simply call or email us. At this
time, we do not offer images on CD or DVD. Please contact us for
a quote if you would like to purchase a slideshow presentation DVD.
We can design a custom slideshow for your special occasion.
